School Counselor

Our goal is to provide Nags Head Elementary School with a comprehensive and developmental school counseling program to help students reach their potential: academically, socially, and emotionally. Our child-centered approach allows us to work closely with parents, teachers, and administrators in an effort to help all students be successful in school. Some of the services that we provide include:

Individual Counseling
We may meet with students on a one-to-one basis in an effort to understand his/her needs to help with academic, behavioral, and/or social difficulties.

Small Group Counseling
Small groups consist of approximately 3-6 students. Group topics may include but are not limited to social skills, anger management, divorce, and grief/loss.

Classroom Guidance Lessons
We visit the classrooms to teach different Life Skills lessons to all students. An example topic is "Ways to say no to drugs."
