A Lesson in the Democratic Process

Nags Head Elementary students vote for spirit day theme at mock polling booths.
Last week, Nags Head Elementary School students were able to experience the voting process firsthand, complete with real voting booths and official ballots.
The stakes were high as students casted their votes to determine how the entire school will dress for an upcoming spirit day during the week of January 22, all in celebration of kindness.

Students left the polls with their very own voting sticker and a newfound knowledge of how the democratic process works! "This was such a fun and meaningful event for our students," said Nags Head Elementary Principal, Kelly Flora.

A huge shoutout to Abigail Poray and the PTO Enrichment Committee for orchestrating this fantastic event, from setting up the voting sites to manning the polls.
